Sometimes we allow ourselves to enjoy life's pleasures a little too much, and we become immersed in our comfort zones, forgetting how these comfort zones are actually holding us back and preventing us from becoming the best version of ourselves. It is beyond the comfort zone that change occurs, which is why change is always uncomfortable at first. But, if you implement the right changes and stick to it, you'll find your life improving more than you ever thought possible. Here are 5 things you can do today to change your life for the better. Get ready to get uncomfortable now, in order to get comfortable later.
Never forget that a simple walk with the beautiful glows of mother nature will absolutely change your way of living. It may be troublesome to initiate a habit that's slower, more gentle than what you're used to, but if you can make this uncomfortable leap of faith, it will quickly become comfortable as nature is likely more beautiful and peaceful than you probably remember it to be.
By taking long walks with the green, you'll find your mind pondering about all sorts of wild and amazing thoughts. You'll find yourself thinking about problems you don't usually think about and even solutions to problems you previously didn't even realize was troubling you or that you'd forgotten about.
A nice, slow walk with nature is essentially a form of meditation when you allow your mind to wonder into eventual emptiness. Take this opportunity and don't assume you're above it - many older, more experienced nature-goers swear by it.
And don't forget to breathe well while you walk - enjoy the fresh air of the outdoors. The breeze alone can often be life-changing, when you allow it to be. Take a moment to enjoy this opportunity when it arises.
Whether it's friends or family or complete strangers, building social connections and embracing them is pivotal to human life. We need to be around others and enjoy their presence in order to feel decent fulfillment in our lives. Don't allow yourself to be too distant from others for too long; while being alone can do absolute wonders for you, especially when you walk with nature, or when you work/study alone for example, it's still a necessity to be around other people and really feel their presence with you. These human bonds are even what some people live for, for good reason. Without each other, what do we really have?
While stepping out of your comfort zone can be challenging when you're not used to social gatherings, practice make perfect, and in this case, is absolutely without a doubt, completely worthwhile. You'll find yourself yearning the presence of lovely people once you try it for the first time in a while and remember what it's like.
Challenge yourself by attending local events, meeting new people, or catching up with old friends, maybe even with nature too - I'm sure like-minded people would love the green also. Don't take social connections for granted; embrace them, enjoy them and be grateful for them, actively. It will do wonders for you and those you spend time with.
When we enjoy the many pleasures of food life has to offer, we often enjoy the less healthy options a little too much. This can have significant effects on our health, some that we may not even be aware of. It's imperative that an excellent balance be actively embraced daily, as a healthy, continuous habit. However, if this isn't a habit you currently maintain, an initial gut health reset can give you a powerful boost in many aspects of your life.
A gut health reset is essentially a "gut reboot" that involves strictly eating only gut-supportive foods, and eliminating completely all gut-irritating foods, for several days or even several weeks. For example, dairy foods, processed foods and grain foods would be avoided as they are inflammatory, and vegetables and high fiber foods would primarily be chosen as they they are gut-friendly. This would not only give you a strong boost in your microbiome health and digestion, but also give you a boost in your physical and mental energy levels. Of course however, this is not individual advice, so be sure to conduct further research for what works best for you or consult a local professional.
Just be sure to consider this gut reset, as it can have significant health benefits as well for you that doctors may not even have linked to gut health yet. It's definitely worth looking into, even though it may be uncomfortable to follow such a strict diet - the positive side of life is often found on the other side of suffering. We must do what is uncomfortable now, to be comfortable later. Do not use discomfort as an excuse not to chase a better quality of living for yourself.
People often use the term "exercise" - I prefer to call it "using your physical energy". Remember that the body adapts - if you want to be able to more easily do something with your body, like touch your toes, then you must practice doing it, over and over, until your body adapts enough to allow you to do it. If you want to be able to lift a 20kg weight, you must practice lifting weights until your body adapts enough to be able to lift that weight. And likewise, if you want to be able to use your physical energy easily such that others would even call you "fit", you must practice using your energy, even if it's just small physical activities to begin with. The body adapts. You will lose weight over time, as your body uses energy and develops its ability to use even more energy in a more efficient way.
Your body is more incredible than you likely think - humans have the power to adapt incredibly well. Don't assume that if you're unwell or unfit in any way for whatever reason that you'll never change - absolutely not. You can and will change, when you decide to - visualize your goals, and work towards them. The human body is made to adapt and change. It's what we're alive to do. Changing is our greatest ability. Do not dare deny this truth to yourself in an attempt to escape the reality of having to get out of your comfort zone in order to bring about change.
Working on your physical health, by exercising/practicing the use of your energy, is proven in countless studies to have a significant positive effect on essentially all aspects of life. Do not neglect this power you are born with - use it. The more you attempt to use your energy, the better you'll be able to use your energy, which can truly change the world as you know it.
Last but not least, recognize that there are multiple sources of energy in life, primarily: food, water, air and words.
We of course use the first three very commonly, but we often neglect the fourth. Words are essential to our well-being. Reading and learning often is something we should always embrace in our lives, as it offers fulfillment in ways we need but often forget about.
While religious texts can offer incredible teachings designed to feed our soul with the words it absolutely needs, many struggle to relate with religious teachings. But that doesn't mean all written teachings offer no relation or benefit. If religion is not something you are ready to learn about, consider any non-fiction book about life, philosophy, love, relationships, finance, wars, meditations, or anything that you can see benefit in learning about. As long as you're actively learning and, most importantly, questioning everything you come across with wild, open and critical thoughts, you'll find yourself learning about many things which likely will lead you to a more prosperous life, where you may even potentially find more fulfillment in your soul, as you work closer to the hidden truths of life.
We wish you good luck in your journey to improving your quality of life, and we hope you embrace the five valuable tips we have shared with you today, in order to see for yourself the positive effects they are to have in your life. Remember, if you continue to embrace your default mode of life where you naturally run/escape to your comfort zone, you won't be able to try new things and hence enjoy different results. Change is necessary if you want better living - new results require new actions. And change is naturally uncomfortable. So chase it, don't run away from change. Chase it... before it chases you in ways you don't want it to.
That's all from us for now. We wish you all the best.
